Flexible and individual - that's how today's ERP system should be. This is shown by a current ERP study. At the same time, however, user-friendliness must not be reduced.
The future of the ERP-software lies in the flexibility. This is what an ERP study by the software company Planat has found out. 49 per cent of the IT experts surveyed see Adaptability as the key to the future success of an ERP system. Topics like Industry 4.0 are still not in focus.
Also important remains the issue of usability. 18 percent of the participants see user-friendliness as an essential criterion for a successful ERP solution.
Digitalisation and Cloud in the ERP Study
A further 12 per cent assume that the Performance of the systems must be constantly adapted to the demands of the market, the customers and digitalisation in order to be successful. The cloud in turn, is seen as the future of ERP systems by only one in ten. At the same time, only nine per cent of those surveyed believe that ERP software will be subject to greater Mobility Needed.
Flexibility and industry proximity in demand
Conversely, a full 57 percent of experts believe that ERP systems often fail because of their own inflexible system structure. In addition, 26 percent believe that programming does not keep up with the ongoing digitalization can keep up. Every tenth respondent assumes that ERP systems will fail if they cannot meet the demands of the respective industry.
